Cronulla Pool -Don't Dive
I took this photo on the 14 Feb 2009. Valentines Day. What you can’t see in this image is how bad the rain was that day. I got soaked and my gear got wet. But it lived to see another day.
This is a 3exp HDR generated in photomatix and then touched up a bit in Lightroom. Shot on a Nikon D700 with a 2.8 16-35mm nikkor zoom.
Cronulla Pool -Don't Dive belongs to the following groups:

...sensational… you really earned this masterpiece – well done!

Thanks Paul. As my grandma always says, there is no such thing as bad weather, there is only bad clothing.

smart woman your grandmother…

Oh I know. I saw her back in Germany last year, she turned 95 and she lives with her 95year old boyfriend that is exactly 1 day younger than her. They are still living unassisted and at times her mind is still as sharp as a knife.

And there is always hope – I really like the whiter part part the horizon, I think it makes all the difference.
alexkess replied
Thank you Heide. Yeah I hope the genes have somehow rubbed off on me by jumping one generation.

Alex, love the mood to this shot. Sorry that you got wet, but it was certainly worth it for this shot. Well done. An instant fave. Cheers Elana.
alexkess replied
Thanks Elana, It was definitely worth it. Still tinkering with some of the other shots from the day. But a lot of them actually have big smudges and drops on the lens.
