Do we need Text on our Landscape Calendars

I have never been too happy with not being able to apply text to my Calendar images.
The purchaser may come from any part of the World and looking at a landscape , seascape image in, say England, would have little meaning apart from the quality of the image. At these prices surely the RB system could accomodate this.
I have taken to producing my calendars elsewhere at present as each image can be named eg “A Time Gone By” Lavendon Mill to Olney.
This gives the viewer a feel for the images interpretation by the photographer and identifies where it was taken.
What do you think!
Cheers Jim

Can’t you add text to the shots yourself before adding them to the calendar? Do a copy of your shot edited with whatever text you want then upload it and add it to a calendar…It’s similar to how I did my group feature pictures (obviously you’ll just add a bit of text where you require it)
I did this by adding text in picassa

Why not add your text to the pictures required, (I find Picasa3 so easy to do this) then upload the images but keep them hidden from public view, then add them to your calender?
Adding hidden pictures to a calender can be done as I have done it myself.

    Hope this helps.

  • Thanks for the quick response Richard. I’ll give it a try

Actually Jim,I just looked at a calendar of mine that I have at home…the title of the work is shown on the bottom rhs of the calendar for each month,so if your photo title reflects the location, then your problem is solved. You can avoid putting text on the image and still let folks know where it is….Jamie

  • Thank a lot Jamie for taking the time. I’ll take on board what you’ve said and give it a whirl

It would nice actually to have a text field to insert on the calendars… It also crossed my mind…
