50cm x 60cm
Oil on canvas
This is the 14th painting in my Legend of L’Inconnue series it tells the story of Louis Argon an evil schizophrenic blackmailer who may have murdered L’Inconnue. This shows his many faces and The Intruder is his concience.
The Intruder
Written by D&L Chopin / Mulberry Hawk
Step into my lair, as I spin you a web of deceit,
with an insidious smile I will pose for a while
and insinuate trust as you sleep.
I will know of your secrets, the sum of your fear,
I will know of your weakness, I will drink from your tears.
Inside my domain there is nothing but pain and disease
I will banish all joy; I will gorge on the fruit as it rots in the orchard of dreams.
But then there are times in the dead of night,
just before dawn, before the first light…………
I intrude, and in dreams I reveal the truth of your deeds,
inspire remorse for an instant of course
and it’s true what they say about shame.
So you take, you break, you thrive as you defecate hatred and shame upon those who were kind to you, the ones who accepted you,
you know they were kind to you.
Leave me alone, I don’t want to know,
I don’t want to go there so deep inside my head.
Come after dark, we can meet in the park;
in the gloom you’ll believe I’m sincere.
Betrayal and confidence trick, I will flatter and call you “my dear”.
Then I empathise, sympathise, listen and learn;
evaluate, calculate, listen and learn then I strike.
As I fleece you I spit on the ashes of all you once loved,
remorseless I bathe in the profit I made from your loss.
But then there are times in the dead of the night, just before dawn, before the first light………….
