60cm x 122,5cm
Oil on canvas
This is the 13th painting in my Legend of L’Inconnue series and tells the story of this woman who has been saved by rescusitation and now can value her daily experience of everyday life as if living it for the very first time.
As if for the first time
Written by D&L Chopin/ Mulberry Hawk
She stirs with the morning, awakened she brushes the sleep from her eyes
Stretches to feel the sweet tingle of life with a satisfied sigh
As the dawn sunlight timidly peeps through the drapes, to play with her hair
While the clock ticks away precious hours of the day that will not come again
Meanwhile in the kitchen the caffetierre gurgles and purrs into life
She washes, aware of the pulse in her veins and the beat of her heart
She breakfasts then takes out the garbage for the joy of an everyday task
And she smiles as the wind gently strokes and caresses her, as if for the first time.
A gift from a kiss, from a stranger to breathe, as if for the first time.
While the clock ticks away precious hours of the day, as if for the first time.
