    I’ve been trying to figure out why I like this so much, since this color scheme does not naturally draw my eye. It could be the model, but I’m a little snobbish about my resistance to models grin. Therefore, it must be the composition of the lines, curves against the tilted verticle; the blue-grey of the sky and the contrast of texture and shade between shirt, hat and hair. And I have talked too much, perhaps. But… fav I’m glad I looked closer.

    For me it is the colours creating the grungy look of the piece against the softness of his skin that attracts my eye. The whole painting looks so tactile and I love the aloof look of the guy as well.
