An award-winning illustrator, photographer and graphic designer, Alex currently uses digital photo collage to express his original thinking and unique vision. His work has been featured in publications as diverse as JPG Magazine, National Geographic Daily News, Clean Run, Hawaiian Airlines’ Hana Hou, Honolulu Magazine, and HMSA’s Island Scene, and his graphic design company has earned over 90 local, regional, national and international professional awards.

He has exhibited art in many media, including drawing, painting, sculpture, photography and digital photo collage, in juried shows nationally and internationally, including the Smithsonian Institute Travelling Exhibition. In 1984 he was awarded the Silver Medal for illustration in the XI Biennale of Graphic Design, Exhibition of Illustration and Editorial Art, Brno, Czech Republic. Since 2000, he has had four one-man shows in Hawaii at the Canon Photo Gallery, The Academy Art Center at Linekona, Gallery on the Pali, and the Hawaii Pacific University Gallery. In 2006, Alex was one of the 241 distinguished artists from 49 countries featured in EXPOSÉ 4, a limited edition book published by Ballistic Publishing, France, showcasing 317 digital artworks selected from over 5,000 submissions. In 2008, Alex was included in The Gifted Artists Series, as part of 2008 COMMON GROUND Collection: Merging Art and Digital Media for a Healthy Planet online gallery.
