Found this little cluster of wildflowers yesterday, possibly the last ones for the season, and I tried, yesterday and again today, to get an image that showed the delicate softness of colour and texture, the fine membrane at the top of the petals covering openings that look like fairytale castle windows, the sharp, thorny spikes at the end of the leaves ……. this has become my nemesis of a flower, taunting me with its softness and sharpness, scoffing at my attempts to capture that in a photo ……. tomorrow I try again, knees and elbows sore and bruised, bites from a persistent march fly ……… you will not beat me, Moriarty in pink!!
