Well, that light had dimmed to a flicker when the corporal found me in the prison cell. I think I was pretty close to the end, sinking into death’s dark embrace. He thinks he can do it a second time, thinks his blood can be transfused into mine and make my immune system strong enough to fight the sickness or at least buy me more time while they work on a cure.
Possibly being " overly romantic" agan and as usual here Alenka, but this reminded me straight away of one of those Greek Ruins Lit at night :-) I really like how well you have managed the lighting here, considering how dimly lit this flowers stalk is , the vibrant and tonal quality of the petals is superb. Under normal lighting we are often drawn away from the structure and delicate form of such a marvel of mother nature and we are instead bombarded with colour and detail. I can’t put my finger on exactly why this one is a definate favourite but " art" is like that :-) Without wanting to sound " sexist " I have to say there is a feminin quality in your macro work, a gentleness as though you are seeing something I am not. Well whatever it is I hope you can keep doing it…..Charlie
Such a wonderful way you have of looking at an image, Charlie …….. thank you for this lovely comment. But I have to be honest and tell you that it really is this camera and the soft way it processes images that gives this result. And of course, the brilliant yellow of the flower, the way it was cupped and facing the morning sun. I know that you and Ron and the all the photographers out there would not really be happy with the soft, fuzzy, blurry, painterly effects this camera gives but for the sort of images I’m trying for it’s just perfect. I love the surprises it keeps giving me, the unexpected images :)
