In summer, early morning was our favourite time for walking on the beach. The sun is just beginning to light up the sand, most of the beach still in the shade of the dunes. Behind us the track leading down to the beach, a few light poles, some fencing and a sunshade are the only signs of human occupation. A wild beach stretches out into the distance before us, untouched by development.
That was four years ago. Now the beach is overlooked by MacMansions.
