"DoubleNature" by Sergei Rukavishnikov by

you give me bread
invite me in
you let me sleep
in your soft bed
you have me eating
out of your hand
doing your bidding
at your command
you think you’ve tamed
the wild in me
but while you sleep
this beast awakes
doesn’t share
in your sweet dreams
longs to run into the night
to hunt and kill
sink teeth in flesh
and taste the heat
of pulsing blood
you think you can
control this beast
you think the wild
can be restrained
you don’t see the struggle
you’ve imposed on me
the bared teeth
that hide
behind the smile
I’ve learnt to wear
the snarl
that’s muted
but still there
the hunger
that I must suppress
to be with you
you don’t know
how strong the urge
to claw and bite
to wrap my fangs
around your neck
to writhe and wrestle
unrestrained
you’ve never felt
that rush of blood
in the rehearsed dance
you call making love
I want to smell
I want to feel
the crush of leaves and earth
not petals strewn
upon your sheets
I want to feel the hairs
rise on your skin
I want to smell
the smell of you
I want to see the wild
flame in your eyes
I want the real, the primal
raw and pure and uncontrived
