Venice, Café Florian,

What I like of this picture is the contrast between Carnival atmosphere and the absent glance of woman in foreground
Someone have compared this image to painting of Degas, l’Absinthe, l’Assenzio (Absence) http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Absinthe.jpg
Thx Mauro

Such a very good collection you have… this was the first image of yours that grabbed me, then I followed and found a beautiful abundance of works… you have a great talent!

I love the feel to this… such a beautiful ‘oldstyle’ mystery

She looks so alone. Dressed up for afternoon tea, has nobody to share the moment. Maybe she has been stood up. She may have met a lost love her. She has a distance between her and the other people around even the photographer. She draws you in to her world and at the same time keeping away.

    This image is great.

I totally agree with the comparison to Degas’ painting. This is a wonderful photo.
