Now why does this shot remind me of Lily Tomlin playing Ernestine??
I remember these phones (yes, I am THAT old) and that my sister’s party line on the farm ran on the barbed wire.
Taken July 1, 2010, Canada Day at the Bar U Ranch, south of Longview, Alberta, Canada, in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains. The Bar U Ranch is now a part of Parks Canada and was once one of the largest breeding stables for the wonderful huge draught horses, the Percherons.

WOW, we had one of these in Fiji with a handle on the side. Our number was ‘one long and one short’. (Back in the 50’s). Fun shot!
