A Brave New World by Kenneth Albin

As I look at some of the stunning images out there I realize that I am a neophyte by comparison. That is not necessarily all that bad because I now have the joy of learning how to improve each shot. Most of my earlier digital cameras were so limited in the quality of the image they could produce this was my main limitation as a photographer. Just trying to coax a reasonable image out of these cameras was a daunting task. The Nikon D5000 may be considered by most to be an ‘entry level’ prosumer camera but the difference between it and my earlier cameras is remarkable. For the first time I can take extremely sharp closeups and even freeze the motion of a hummingbird’s wings if I choose to do so. Now I am the main limitation! I am learning a little more each day, though, and my photographs should benefit as a result. It would be nice one day to say that the camera is limiting me and not the other way around. This is a very exciting time for me as a photographer. I so want each shot to be special. I suppose this is the neverending quest for perfection that one never quite reaches but still strives for.
