This is another of my anti-war paintings showing debris and a smoke filled sky with the sun barely shining through. This was Iraq….lets hope the warmongering in Afghanistan stops now.
.. the sense of “space” in this one is strangely contrasting …..and so the tension which it creates works as an “appeal” ….. well ….
This painting was done along with many others I did as a protest to George Bush’s warmongering. Another one I just added called The Light of Day is also another anti-war painting I did about 6 years ago.
You know how I feel about wars, Albert. They suck!!! They make crooked politicians grow richer, and put the poor soldiers in their graves. Yes, I am talking about YOU, Dick Cheney!!!! Worthless bas***d!!! I’m so sick of it!!! Sorry, just had to express that opinion prior to accepting this piece into “Gems Gone Unnoticed”, where I have to be nicer.
I’m glad your spoke up Deb because you should every time you get a chance to. There are too many warmongers around and they think it’s fine to keep fighting and they pay no attention to what the majority of peaceful people think. If John Lennon was around now then he would make sure the warmongers get the peace messages that all good people want to shout out about.
Now I am going to put on my other hat…still hate war, mind you!!! But let’s talk art here. Excellent complementary color choice!! Has a floating effect that I love. Well done!!
