More than anything..I’d like to refine my eye – so that I can see the most sublime among the ordinary..or even extraordinary..

is the way we see dictated and defined to by our inner perspectives on the world around us?

  • Caroline Gorka

Absolutely …ok, in my opinion ..I see what I see through what I want to see …but I think that as a photographer you can learn to see ‘outside the box’ ...go deeper than what is apparent.

  • Alateia replied

yeah i agree that learning to see by employing tools that adjust our vision can then adjust our thinking as a result

An Artist can never stop learning more & more, and creating just comes….go with it!!!! The Art I see on RB blows me away!!!!!! And it just inspires me to keep practicing, keep it real, and first and foremost have fun with it!!! Photoshop is something I am struggling with now, because I am so oldschool, and very computer iliterate….but one day I will Master it!!! : ) Enjoy your day, and, Alateia thank you for asking about our thoughts & experiences, on such a wonderful passion that we all share!!!! One of my goals is to continue studio portrait photography mainly to get good enough photos of my Daughter & promote her Modeling Ambition!! And I want to start displaying my work at Art markets in the state of New Mexico, USA where I live!! Hopefully if they are good enough, I would love to sell….Goals & Dreams if I work hard enough will come true….............Thank you for your interest, and just so you know, your Art is Amazing and inspirational to many of us!!! Thank you for that!!!! Peace, Syl

-silvia not surprisingly, YOUR DAUGHTER IS A STUNNER!

well, if you are sensitive enough to feel the direction of the wind, and smart enough to change tack and navigate towards your desired destination, then it is just a matter of time before you arrive, i wish you and your daughter all the very best in your persuits, two richly gifted women :)

it’s a fascinating topic and i often think about it. I think that with any creative pursuit, it is all about the journey and the learning never stops. When i began painting, i thought that there would be a point i would reach where i could say “I’m great at this”!! However, i have since discovered that the ‘point of arrival’ is elusive. Now that i have accepted that art is all about the journey, i have been so much happier and able to produce better and better art. Hopefully, i’ll keep getting better and when i don’t, then i will change direction and pursue a different medium and continue the journey that way.

  • Alateia replied

yes! absolutely with you on that Marion!
there is an interesting comment on the blog about the ‘journey’ ANON 2 did you read that?

I’m on the same boat. definately all about ‘NOT WHEN YOU GET THERE BUT HOW YOU GET THERE that’s the message.

as soon as we stop being fascinated and hungry to know more, change medium for sure. As soon as we reach a point where our learning curve gets just a little too shallow then throw yourself in the deep end and wallow once again in the experience of life!
    :))
