The day was horrible, persistant rain and heavy showers ( I’ve been told there is a difference ) and blowing a gale. I noticed a break in the clouds on the horizon and took a gamble that it would clear around sunset. I high-tailed it up to the forest and was blessed, for once, with the most amazing lighting I’d ever seen. The New Forest pony was the icing on the cake as far as I was concerned.
I used a Canon 20D and a Sigma 10-20mm lens. This was shot in Raw and processed using PS CS2. The processing was:
change colour balance levels curves slightly lighten the pony and land with an adjustment layer sharpen save
This was taken in the New Forest National Park in Southern England.
Hi Barssel, Thanks for the group suggestion. I’ve now joined the group but don’t know how to up-load an image to the group. Will FAQ’s tell me how to do this? I’m still very new to the site and I’m still finding my way around.
Really stunning shot, I can’t believe what I’m looking at is a real scene!
Hi Evans, I couldn’t believe it either, the lighting was amazing. There was still rain in the air and I had to use a plastic bag to cover my camera every now and again.

Thanks for the comment Eivor. I just hope I can find another day with such light in the clouds.
Fantastic capture………………….beautiful.
This would be perfect in the Equine Art and Photography group.
