This was shot in the New Forest ( UK ) at a small pond that only exists in winter or after heavy rain. This winter saw quite a heavy snow fall ( for this area at least ) and I took this when the snow was in retreat.
I really like the textures in the ice as I’ve never seen it quite like this before. Normally the ice would be smooth.
I was standing in freezing water for most of this shoot and even with three pairs of socks on my feet were like ice-blocks. I was glad to get back to the car and ptu the blowers up to maximum.
Lovely vertical scenic view, so nicely exposed to show off all the lovely colors and contrasts in both the bright and shadowed areas! Lovely dof! Well worth your freezing feet! lol : )
