I live in the New Forest National Park, so much of my photography will be centred around there. I also take landscape and seascape photos of the Dorset coast, also known as the Jurassic Coast, and around the counties of Hampshire and Wiltshire in the UK.
I have trained as a Fine Artist and I studied photography as part of the various art courses I enroled in.
Whilst studying for my Degree I won a major drawing prize awarded by the RBA ( The Royal Society Of British Artists ). This entailed a month long study of art in the beautiful city of Rome at the British School. This was a fantastic experience.
I have won a BBC calendar competiton with a photo of a field of bright red poppies at sunset after a storm. This was the inspiration I needed to take my photography to the next level.
Buying my first DSLR and wide angle lens was a revelation and the digital age has totally transformed the way I now approach photography. I am very serious about the quality of my work and hope it shows in the images you’ll see on my bubble.
I have learned a lot about photography from various websites I have joined and I’m thankful for the generous advice the people on them have given me.
I hope you enjoy my photography,
Alan.
