watercolour to mark the 75th Anniversay of The Jarrow march..In October 1936 around 200 unemployed men marched with a petition from Jarrow to London…around 300 miles.
There was at that time little or no work in their home region and they were pressing the government to create more job opportunities….seems some things never change..
Needless to say this event has become a part of our social history..
