This under fed Podenco (a local breed used for hunting) was chained out in the sun (over 30C at the time) with no access to food, water or shelter. And cowered down the rocks any time a human got to close.
I have to admit that I seriously though about stealing it – but we don’t have enough room for a third dog….
Really lovely podenco, but sad sad situation. I have four rescue dogs from Spain, ex hunting dogs (galgos and podenco mix), and this kind of things make me really sad.
I’m horrified at some of the conditions of some of the dogs here. Spanish law doesn’t help either – the laws on animals are far more relaxed here than northern Europe.
