This is a glimpse of Alberta from the hill south of Okotoks, Alberta. This is prairie horse and cattle country nestled in the foothills of the Rockies. This shot was taken August 15/09 with my new Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-HX1. This is a cropped shot and is not taken with the awesome panorama feature of the camera.
Amazing how you caught the horses in opposite directions and the landscaping is to die for, beautiful shot! Take care Al
Hey Sam, when I went by the first time they were right next to each other like twins, but I couldn’t stop. When I came back, they were standing like bookends, lol. I LOVE this country!
Very pretty! You still got that much snow in your “God’s Country”? :)
Thanks Kinsey. We get mini cold snaps wit rain, but at the higher elevations that can mean snow at any time. We were thankful for this cold snap because it helped abate all those wildfires.
Thank you Monika. I am still hoping to take my “definitive” Alberta shot, comprising of mountains, round bales, oil pumpjacks, and either horses or cows. It is so hard to get all four in one shot, but now that I have my new panorama capability it will be easier. Ther is a spot north of Longview that has possibilities.
I was listening to the news this morning .and heard that some body is shooting the wild horses out there.. that horrible .. how could anyone do that ! ..its so sad :(
Thank you so much Elaine. I hadn’t heard that but I would like to take those idiots and tie them behind a horse for a few hours!
