Grey vs Black by

Taken Canada Day July 1/09 at the Bar U Ranch near Longview, Alberta.
They have a long history of raising purebred Percherons.
These amazing horses are bred for pulling heavy loads and have huge feet with hairy fetlocks, strong necks and shoulders and incredibly strong haunches.

You can see a white ribbon hanging on the grey’s mane. This was because his handler was decorating the mane while in motion, an impressive display.
The black is partly in harness in preparation for an 8-horse hitch done 4-abreast. More to follow…
