This foursome is the rear portion of an 8-hitch team so the better horses are in the front, and yet I marvel at their coordinated footwork.. I had never seen an 8-horse hitch done in 2 sets of 4 abreast before, except in statues in Europe. Taken Canada Day July 1/09 at the Bar U Ranch near Longview, Alberta. They have a long history of raising purebred Percherons. These amazing horses are bred for pulling heavy loads and have huge feet the size of dinner plates, strong necks and shoulders, and incredibly powerful haunches.
