St. Peter's - Evening by

You are looking at the smallest country in the world!
The Vatican, Rome – Evening of March 6/09
The size is so deceiving because you can’t really see any of St. Peter’s Square in front of the Basilica. It looks like it is a block away but it is more like a kilometer away. Even the huge obelisk is almost lost in this picture. This is arguably the largest church in the world.
Taken through the front window of a moving tour bus.

Awesome for me to see this.. (Someday in person hopefully).. Looks quite regal.. Cool shot Al.. Hey.. were you standing out the sun roof for this one..

  • Nope I took this over the drivers shoulder, through the windshield. The Vatican is one mesmerizing place to visit. You could spend weeks in there just studying the ceilings! I wish I had more time there.

Love it Al. Wonderful night capture.

  • Thanks Kathy. It wasn’t the most optimum conditions to get this shot as we were just driving by this evening.

    Amazing night capture Al

  • Thank you Daniela. I am amazed I caught it this well considering where I had to shoot from, and the lighting.

Beautiful night shot, Al. Very cool lighting! Must be a very impressive building.

  • Thanks Mike. It is doubly impressive when you can see the huge square (circle) in front of it!
