Taken Feb 25/09 Paris, France This is one view from the top observation deck on the Eiffel tower, the highest structure in the city. According to Wikipedia: Including the 24 m (79 ft) antenna, the structure is 324 m (1,063 ft) high (since 2000), which is equivalent to about 81 levels in a conventional building.
It’s a cool photo!!! (I have a major problem with heights and this one does me in! So it must be pretty dang good to do that to me!!)
I guess it is a good thing that this is zoomed in somewhat, eh??? You really don’t realize how high you really are until you start going up that inside elevator and everything gets REAL small below you…
Remarkable shot. I’m grateful, too, that I don’t have to notice the height, Al. Couldn’t get up there when I was 19, and certainly not know. Glad you took this shot, with such a sparkling vista.
I can understand getting vertigo very easily. Some shots from the sides of cliffs even get me queasy at times.

Good god ! I didnt realise it was that high!! Next trip Im up there (she bravely says now )… teehee.. Great shot !
I have added some dimensions in the caption above…. 81 storeys tall is pretty darn high.
Awesome capture! I try to get to Paris every 40 years. I’m 38 so I should be visiting soon.
Save your money now. it is not cheap over there but definitely worth a good visit.

Wow! 81 stories – jeepers no wonder its high.. doesnt look that high from the ground when you are alongside it! It’s an impressive structure for sure! August is the cheapest month in Paris – even accomodation is half price! Still cost $AUD20 for a glass of sparkling though LOL.. But as you say worth it :)) Im hoping for a trip back this August! :)
Go for it! I look forward to seeing your shots on your return. The Euro is about $2 AUD so it is pricey for you guys, but just enjoy the wine and bread and you won’t care.
Oh my goodness, what a view!! This must have really been something to experience.
Our tour was awesome but I am super glad we went early to spend a couple of extra days in Paris. I could go back and spend a couple of months there and see something new every day.

The view is amazing up there as there are few buildings over 6 stories in Paris.
