Souvenir Photo Studio by

A series of very old photographs taken by my great-grandfather and grandfather who founded Souvenir Photo Studio in the early 1900’s, in Radville, Saskatchewan. This is where I remember my Grandfather living during my lifetime.
I have a “shingle” they had put out, done in ink and pastels, dated 1911. It hangs proudly in my home.

A priceless memento, Al! Bet the neighbourhood had a little less traffic in those days! ;o)

  • Yes, vehicles were rarely used if you could walk the distance easily.

fabulous ..! I traced my ancestors back to Ireland to 1740 … one of the relatives ( that I dont know at all ) wrote a book and traced the geneology back … my cousin sent me an page fro mthe book and wow its amazing .. such interesting info in it about the deaths births etc

  • Genealogy is quite a task. One of my cousins has us traced back to France in the 1600’s, Chambly area I think.

Neat keepers Al, I am thoroughly enjoying all your reads here. I just checked my map, and I see that’s near Weyburn, less than 5-6 hours from me…Thanks for sharing these oldies my friend.

  • Yes, it is 18 miles east and 12 miles south of Weyburn. Great little town with wonderful spirit.
