This statue of the Inca king Huayna Capac is located near the Pumapungo ruins on the street that bears his name. He tried to unite the Inca and Canari cultures by marrying a Canari princess, but eventually the Canari joined with the Spanish to oust the Incas.
This artwork is derived from a photograph taken Nov. 4/12 in Cuenca, Ecuador, South America nestled in the Andes Mountains.
