this is a neat shot, i live in canada and shooting the cardinals in the snow never turns out like this one, how did you get the colours right?

Andrew, I don’t think this is a cardinal, it was really more on the orange side. This was captured in a tropical pyramid at the Muttart Conservatory in Edmonton, so I am pretty sure it is not a native bird to Canada. This was a film shot and the color is what it is. I layered the shot under a black and white version and erased the areas where I wanted the colors to come through. Everyone seems to call thei “selective coloring” or SC. Cheers, Al
