The marvellous art deco shell of the 1950’s abandoned power station, now left to the salt, sun and sand. In its decay it is still a masterpiece of art and design, both inside and out.

Coogee Power Station – Western Australia

I live in the Northern Territory of Australia. It is rugged, remote and ancient. I love to capture moments that we may easily miss or pass by. I need to slow down, live life, notice the little things and breathe….. rather than rush to my next meeting through the artificial world. Beauty is all around us, the more you look, the more you see…
Unless stated, my images are straight from the camera with minimal processing.

What splendid light patterns and perspective, Louise, leading the eye. The people show the huge size of this empty station. An apt title, too.

  • Thanks Jan – it is an extraordinary place. Very emotive place full of ambivalence. It was a great visit.
