Agave attenuata

In Greek mythology “Agave” was the name of one of the Amazons; a tribe and nation of all-female warriors and leaders.

A warrior’s life is one of
light and shadow,
sharp edges and contrasts,
strength and structure.

About Akrotiri

I live in Western Australia and love to capture moments that we may easily miss or pass by. I need to slow down, live life, notice the little things and breathe….. rather than rush to my next meeting through the artificial world. Beauty is all around us, we’re usually so busy we forget to look… But the more you look, the more you see…
Unless stated, my images are straight from the camera with minimal processing.

The succulents are my special favorites, but I’ve not seen one portrayed with such sharp beauty before. thanks.

  • Thanks very much Mike. I’m dabbling with B&W processing so I wanted to capture some strong shapes, structure and contrast. I like it in colour too!

    Lovely shape and colour!

  • Thanks Lori – it’s a great structural plant. I’m trying to get my head around B&W and thought this would be a good one. The learning session is here if you want to follow it.
