Shed your layers by

Shedding layers is a painful process.
It comes after being dull for a long time, forgotten and obsolete.
The outer surface that has kept you hidden
is scraped off
to reveal a newer version of you,
One that seems brighter and more colourful.
Use your time well before you succumb to dullness once more
and begin the process again.

About Akrotiri

I live in Western Australia and love to capture moments that we may easily miss or pass by. I need to slow down, live life, notice the little things and breathe….. rather than rush to my next meeting through the artificial world. Beauty is all around us, we’re usually so busy we forget to look… But the more you look, the more you see…
Unless stated, my images are straight from the camera with minimal processing.

    Beautifully done Louise… ;o)

  • Thanks Colin, it’s a steep learning curve and although it’s not perfect, I’m happy with it for where I’m at so far. Thanks for your encouragement! :)

Lovely shot and text, Louise. Nice work with your light box; my spouse made one for me last year. How do you light yours, if I might inquire?

  • Well, it’s still a bit of an experiment at the moment. I’ve chopped up a box and the sides have windows made of a sort of tracing paper. I’ve got two desk lamps (both 60W, warm white) that I’ve used and tried a couple of things – one on the left and right at about 45 degrees each, but also tried one from the top and one from the side. This shot isn’t the perfect ‘white’ you see in stock images, I can’t quite get that but I don’t really mind the tone in this one. I’ll keep playing around with it.
