Evil Genius by Akkra

This feathery little beastie (or one that looks suspiciously like it) has been taunting me since the beginning of last Winter by flying off like a rocket the moment I focus on it. The closest I’ve got to it is when it flew into the window pane (ha! That’s Karma for you). Until now. I don’t care if it’s the same one or if it’s a conspiracy between them… I’ve got it now!

How wrong would it be to smear glue on the branches so I can get a closer shot? Really?

Oh Zoe, love what you wrote, gave me a huge GIGGLE, sure needed it. AT LAST, I know how long its been since you’ve been trying to get this little beastie and you did it beautifully, gorgeous shot Zoe and great focusing kid, well done. and yes, they are extremely hard to catch, they never stop still. Woohoo!!

  • Cool comment Josie, thanks very much! Glad it put a smile on your face. I swear this damn Robin has been my nemesis for months, it knows I’m coming I’m sure of it. I can’t believe that I finally got it without having to superglue it’s feet down! ;D

Great shot Zoe. I like the way the background is out of focus.

  • Thanks very much Peter :o) I thought I would never get this beastie (and stay sane!).

What a little cutie!! Love that brilliant orange on her/his chest – ooooohhh Akkra!!! This is a beautiful shot!!! LOVE this beauty and now I’ve just got to look it up to see what it is!!! Looks very well fed! Stunning catch Akkra!!!! :-)

  • It does look very well fed doesn’t it? It had my full bag of muesli over the weeks while I tried to coax it into keeping still! Robins always remind me of feathery tennis balls :D
Thank you very much for your awesome comment and the fave maxy. I’m so chuffed :o)

i think glue is a great idea personally, but most others would probably frown on it. oh wel!! glad you finally caught up with the evil genius…great shot!

  • Thanks very much Michael! I think the glue’s an awesome idea myself. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a nature lover, but oooooh that bird’s just asking for trouble! :D

Congrats on getting the little horror on camera at last, but don’t give us other Bubbler snappers too many kudos! Robins are notorious at vanishing at the sight of a camera – I have a very tame robin in my garden who is happy to perch a couple of feet away from me, as long as I don’t have my camera to hand! Devils in bird’s clothing………. get that superglue out……. ;o)))

  • LOL yes, I am not alone! I know I’m barely an amateur snapper, but it’s so reassuring to know that it’s not just me :o) Those Robins are the purest evil! It was with no small amusement that I watched it fly into my window. Ha! Thanks very much for your comment Krys. Please excuse me, I have to go out and buy some megastrength glue and ooh… maybe a welding kit ;D
