Amidst The Colors Of Fall

Hi Sean THANKS SO VERY MUCH!! The colors were really awesome (this image does not do … what we saw with our eyes … justice), and the added bonus of the two juvenile Trumpeter Swans just made the moment. Don’t know where the adults were and why these two were by themselves, I really HOPE that they are both okay and on their way to their wintering grounds. Thanks again and Take Care ~ Deb ~ ☺

THANKS SO VERY MUCH dear friend, it was much prettier then my image depicts it!! Fairbanks had it’s first snowfall earlier this week, don’t know when we will receive ours (I would prefer it to hold off, but Father Nature is not going to appease me, lol … I’m not ready!!). Hey Jan THANKS SO MUCH!! Yes, immature Trumpeter Swans. LOL, yep … 720 miles each way. We left on the 14th, overnighted in Gakona (as we were on the road headed out of Wasilla at 4:30 PM) checked out of the cabin in Gakona at 7 AM on the 15th, back on the road to Haines … arrived in Haines at 9 PM. We then left Haines on Friday the 18th, checking out of the hotel by 8 AM, got breakfast then started homeward … this time we drove straight through, arriving home at around 1:30 AM Saturday the 19th as we wanted to take in the Bird TLC Raptor walk that they were having at Kincaid Park sometime that day (we only heard about the Raptor walk via a cell phone call from our daughter, on Monday the 14th as we were on the road to Haines). I did a write up (with photos) about the walk (trying to get the word out about Bird TLC and trying to garner a little support for them) ... if you want to check it out. I am thinking about during a writing with photos, from our road trip to Haines … I just need to get my notes together, do a draft and see how it reads. Thanks again and Take Care my friend ~ Deb ~ ☺

Hi Sandy THANKS SO MUCH for the visit and very kind comment, so greatly appreciated!! The immature Trumpeter swans/first year are gray in color with the pinkish bills, while the adults are pure white with black bills. Fall has not only hit, it is disappearing, lol … I’m afraid that it won’t be long before I am shoveling the white stuff < I’m frowning here. > Thanks again my friend and Take Care ~ Deb ~ ☺

Oh Beve, We hadn’t seen a lot of swans this year, so coming across the ones that we did while on the road trip was such a bonus, especially the number of young ones (these two we have no idea why they were alone … just hope that they made the migration okay).
