Mature Bald Eagles taken in the wild off Homer Spit, Homer, Alaska.
I was taking photos of these two Eagles when all of a sudden the Eagle on the right lifted it’s leg and pushed the other Eagle off the perch, as you can see the other Eagle wasn’t too happy about the maneuver. (You’re never quite sure that you saw what you think you saw until you view the actual shot that your camera managed to capture, LOL!!). The expression on the face of that Eagle to me, is simply PRICELESS!! Even Eagles get pushed off their pedestals once in awhile, a once in a lifetime capture!

DJ LeMay
THUD!!! Noooooooooo…. REALLY???!!!! You’re KILLING me with these hilariously STUNNING images tonight!! STOP!! My sides are splitting!! Seriously… SENSATIONAL!!! Top-rate!!
Rick & Deb Larson replied
LOL DJ!!! I told Rick last night that I wanted to get this one uploaded to see if others saw the humor in it, I couldn’t believe that I actually caught this, I mean when you are looking through a lens and you are not right on top of the subject, you aren’t really sure if you saw things quite the way they were, but I did….and I couldn’t believe it!! They were sitting there so nicely, when all of a sudden the one Eagle reached over and gave a push…and the look on the other Eagles face, to me is PRICELESS!! Glad that you enjoyed the humorous side to this capture. Did you hear that the Eagle Lady of Homer, Jean Keene passed away? She died the 13th of January just after we saw her on the 6th through the 8th of January, Homer will not be the same without her (I dedicated three shots that I took on the 7th and 8th, they are here on our site). THANKS for the visit and glad we could put a little laughter in your belly, LOL!! Take Care :-)
Lynda McDonald
oh a little territorial disagreement?...........good action photo Deb/Rick
Rick & Deb Larson replied
Hi Lynda, They were both sitting there so nicely, don’t know what got into the one Eagle to all of a sudden decide to push the other one off, but the look on that other Eagles face is ‘priceless.’ Take Care Deb :-)
lcbirder
What a cool shot. How funny. I notice frequent territorial rights of space in some birds. There were 2 Eastern Phoebes going at it yesterday, but I couldn’t get a shot that decently represented the conflict. This is a great shot!
Rick & Deb Larson replied
HI THANKS SO MUCH!! Really appreciate it. Take Care :-)
Lois Bryan
HAHAHAH!!!! THis is FABULOUS!!!!!! What an amazing image … and what extraordinary timing on your part!!! You know, I’ll bet these guys know you so well, they felt comfortable horsing around in front of you!!!! Toooooo COOOL!!!!
Rick & Deb Larson replied
Hey Lois, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! I think that they might feel at ease with people around as they realize that there is no threat, but maybe it’s because they still feel Jean’s presence…the bond she had with the Eagles was AMAZING (to say the least). I can’t believe I caught this shot so clearly (Rick is the one who gets the great action shots, I think I can give the credit to my new camera, I’m so impressed with the clarity of my shots). Again, THANK YOU!! Take Care :-)
velveteagle
What a wonderful moment to capture again you amaze me..
Chuck…
Rick & Deb Larson replied
Hi Chuck, WOW, THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I think this is one of those ‘priceless shots’ (in my book anyway), I am soooo glad that I was able to capture it (when I told my husband what I thought I saw through my lens, he couldn’t believe it…then when I came across it when we were looking through our shots that day…I was so excited that I had actually captured it, and Rick’s thought was ‘oh wow.’). Thank you again, Take Care :-)

THANK YOU!! Take Care Deb :)
