The Fourth To Come

The Fourth To Come

I painted this in oils, usually I use acrylics. This is from an small print that was so old it was falling apart. My Dad really liked it so I painted it to canvas and is about 3×3feet. I don;t know the story behind this image but i envisioned the 4 horsemen and the Apocolypse with the fourth horsemen yet to come.

The Fourth To Come belongs to the following groups:

This is an excellent painting! The veins in the horses’ faces, the fury of the storm… everything here gives off a strange unsettling ambiance.

And yep, the Apocalypse is what came to mind, even before I read your description.

    Well done! =)

I love the movement and drama in your painting! You can only see the horses heads but you still convey a lot of energy without showing the limbs.

Arnie – The intensity painted into the horses faces and the looming sky projects such imagery. Riding the wind, will not rest until destination is met. Well done my friend.

the original is probably the classic called ‘The Pharoh’s Horses’ or ‘The Horses of The Pharoh’

Excellent rendition, original background was reds and golds.
