Michael Jackson - ("Moth to Fame")

Michael Jackson - ("Moth to Fame")

The face and jacket is painted but the rest is collage with some Christmas decorations thrown in. I thought a portrait of the King of Pop should have some glam and shine like he did in real life. The title ie, “Moth to Fame” came about when a dead moth fell onto my lap as i was painting this. I thought about it and decided to add it as a symbol of his natural state of being he felt when performing in the flames of high energy and glory. Away from the stage he was alone and lost.

My tribute to a person who changed music and the world.

Always felt a deep compassion for Michael. Believe he was destroyed by a world that so doesn’t believe in love and unity. Normal people can accept this but people with Michael’s depth of sensitivity tend to be bullied by the energy of the world.

All your words are so true. I won’t write a tome, I promise. To most who deem him so strange, they’ve not tapped into the value of humanity, and kindness of spirit inside themselves. As far as he is concerned, I think they don’t even want to. He was blessed with enormous talent, but he was also gifted with a desire to live by what eventually became his nemesis, the innocense of misunderstood love.
I hope and pray that when a loving soul is called back, it will finally find other ones like itself. Personally, I would love it if his soul found joy in all things, and no longer have to be like a moth befallen to fame.
This is a truly excellent piece, by the way. He will be missed for time untold. Bravo, to your masterful ability!!!

Thank you for your kind words. His home the stage, his brief life a cage. Dancing from the darkness only to return, searching for a light that doesn’t burn….little bit of rhyme there : )
