My Nan

She fitted in with everyone and understood everyone.
Sort of moulded,to the surroundings she was in.
Always,still being her own person.

When with a group,it did’nt matter the sex,age or culture of that group.
She would blend and stand out.
Like a paddock full of yellow flowers, with one red one.
Would stand out,but not overpower.
More high-light and compliment the others.

You could party ,laugh, sing silly songs, tell dirty jokes.Nan would be with you all the way.
You could drink tea, discuss world politics, dress and act accordingly.Nan would be with you all the way.

I have felt admiration, trust, love, comfort and respect for a lot of people.
I have been in awe of,been intrigued by a lot of people.
I have only felt all of this for one person, that person was my Nan.

Nan was like crystal.
So many facets,so many colours flitting around, captures your attention.
You’re just waiting for another facet, another colour to come through.

A tribute for Nan She’s been away for a few years,I’ll walk with her again.

Yes , It was July , bloody freezing and every day I woul dgo to the hospital and sit with her a at the beginning she new who I was. Bruce and I lived with her I cared for her and we had the dogs of course. She loved Macca and that dog looked after her in his way , youknow. When she went into hospital she was very frail as the time went on , within a week she went down hill fast. She kept asking me about the dog. I asked the nursing staff if I could bring the the dog to the front entrance , and as she was in a wheel chair take hr to the door to seee him. They wouldn’t let me do it ! By this stage she didn’t really know who I was but she remembered Macca . She died not getting to see him. Theday bfore she died she asked me where’s Jane , I said I’m Jane and the old love said no my little girl whereis she? so i said I’ll bring her tomerrow! so she was happy with that. she went right back to when we were all kids .
I am gettig a wee bit morbid here , I am glad to have had suh fantastis parents. And glad I was able to give back to her by nursing her.
She liked a drink at the newyear ! lol

Lovely M I can understand that feeling for you Nan I lost my Grand Ma too a few months ago.
Great love you offer her forever.

  • Yes it is sad when the time is here, there’s nothing to be done, just make sure those you care for know they’re loved.Words or actions does’nt matter how.
