watercolour, ink, watercolour pencil on A2 Mont Martre drawing paper.
This was painted on 13th November 2010, for the Fleurieu Art PrizeOne Day Painting Competition
This competition focuses on landscape painting, which is not my main focus and something I don’t find easy, especially to paint in one day! I chose a single grape vine to paint, as this is somewhat of a bridge between the flowers I usually paint and the landscape required for this competition.
This was a huge amount of fun, but also a real challenge for me. I normally take my time over painting, and it can take days or weeks to finish a painting. I usually have several on the go, and had never before realised just how long it takes for me to create an artwork!
I was pretty rushed with this one in the end, so it is far from perfect, but I was still happy with it.
Needless to say I did not win !!
