I know just where this is, I used to go walking through here as a kid. There is a patch of huge gum trees near by which roosts a clan of Glossy Tail Black Cockatoos.
I have always wanted to try painting This is a nice capture.

These colours are so right, I think this must have been painted outdoors and not from a photo. Wonderful work.
Shallay, what a lovely thing to hear!! I did paint it from a photo taken on my Blackberry believe it or not, however I am pretty familiar with the Gorge, I spend an awful lot of time at the winey up there!! So thank you very much, it means a lot to hear you say that :)

Thanks so much MrsW!! It is terribly aussie…..yesterday there was a bushfire there not far from where I painted this…..no really bad damage done and no homes or property threatened which is a relief, but you can’t get much more australian than that can you?
