Awesome detail…and I am all about detail!! Wonderful work!
Alexandra Felgate replied
Thanks Susan, I was really pleased with how this came off, I think its my favourite in my Hellebores series. I don’t often paint close ups of single flowers, but this one really got to me and I had to do it!

Beautiful again alexandra.. you’re so good with these pencils..I tried a few times many years ago..but it’s a difficult medium for me to use and I never got good results..some people can just use them so well..like you !!
well done !
Alexandra Felgate replied
Thank you Cathy! I love working with these pencils, always have. For me it is like a cross between drawing (which I love) and painting. I am really crap at using watercolours, but these pencils really feel great to use…..guess we all have different media that works for us!

This makes me want to try out my (as yet untouched) watercolour pencils.
Alexandra Felgate replied
Oooohhh, I’m getting excited, can’t wait to see what you’ll do with watercolour pencils Dave!!! (And pleased I was able to inspire you, that gives me a real buzz!)

This is my favourite too, in the hellebore series – lovely composition. I also find the Inktense pencils excellent for flower drawings. I bought pots of hellebores to put either side of the front door because I was fed up of waiting for the ones in the garden to flower.
Alexandra Felgate replied
Thanks Susan! I suddenly want Hellebores in pots by my front door!!! Gorgeous.
Penny Lewin
Gorgeous colours!
Alexandra Felgate replied
Thank you Penny, I love Hellebores, because they have so much colour in winter when everything is dormant.
AmandaGWright
This is beautiful.
Alexandra Felgate replied
Thank you very much Amanda, it was a joy to paint, and my favourite in my Hellebores series, so I’m thrilled you enjoy it :)
