Don't Look Now belongs to the following groups:

of secret hopes
she keeps in a tight fist
her thumb curled up
in the cradle of her palm
ensnared by her
fingers
sometimes
she pumps her bitter fist
repeatedly
to watch the blood rush
through her veins
which become
like the tributaries
of a complex river system
feeding a valley
of dreams
fresh blood courses
to and from
her handful of
private desires
she’d probably never
tell
not him
not for all
not for nothing
he’d just squeeze his fist
around hers
and crush them
still
she loves him
but
with her other hand
she covers her eyes

Lord Luke – I don’t know where all this powerful emotion is coming from but it’s almost overwhelming in its depth and ferocity. Your words here flow exactly as the blood in your metaphor – the images, fearful, protective, painful and raw. Remarkable work, Luke.
