What can I embrace
To fill the void deep inside?
The answer is me.

Artist's Description

Disclaimer: No, I’m not trying to be a guru or an irritating feel-good, self-help knucklehead (not that they are all irritating or knuckleheads, but you get my drift). And I realize this way of thinking is spouted on every street corner the world over(ie, nothing new here). But I thought I’d throw my little haiku take on it. I know, this concept is easier said than done. However, if you think about it, like I am trying to do in my own life, it’s actually quite rewarding.

Sometimes it’s easy to get lost. Off track. If you ever feel hollow inside, wandering everywhere, looking for love or acceptance, comfort or escape outside… sometimes the best thing to do is start from the beginning, as awkward or painful as that can be. Come to terms with who you are. Try embracing yourself with both arms tightly wound round your own torso and see what happens. To be comfortable in your own skin, to be content with yourself no matter what, is the first step in overcoming any adversity and achieving a greater love and understanding of everything else around you.
