I see the room is filled again
With worn out faces, tattered clothes,
They gather ‘round because they’ve heard
There’s comfort here when times are low.
They come from every walk of life
Some never rid despair,
Others seek brief help today
Each come for tender care.
There is no judgement,
No stigma attached
Just unconditional love.
Everyone is welcome
Regardless of their past.
So if there’s no where else to turn
You’ve found yourself in need
Saint Vincent de Paul’s Society
Is here to take the lead.
(I was inspired to write this last night after having completed a new ad campaign for a very dear, long time client, The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul. That noble organization strives to reach out to those in our community in need, and each volunteer opens their heart to the less fortunate, raising them up and giving them the strength and services to carry on into a better life by reclaiming their dignity and hope through the gentle care the Society has to offer. As many of their clients express, through genuine tears of gratitude, “The staff of Saint Vincent de Paul are like angels. Angels that lend not only a helping hand but a genuine, loving interest in the well being and ultimate success of people in precarious need.” Here, in my little poem I would like to acknowlege their mission of mercy. Their tireless commitment to helping others less fortunate and their dedication to reaching out, pulling those in dire straits up and guiding them to a brighter path. Here’s to The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul.
You are all unsung heroes.)
