Captured today (5/28/11) as we walked around our favorite annual Butterfly Show here in Eden Park. I normally focus on photographing the wings of butterflies, spread out in all their glory, but this little ladies eyes with her fixed stare made me stop and see her from a far more interesting angle.

Natural light, no crop, no edit.

The world is full of magical photo ops…

All you need to grab them is a zest for life, an eye for the extraordinary and that trusty camera of your choice.

Raise the sturdy weight of it to your face … close one eye then … lower your finger upon the shiny black button… hold your breath then… hear that hypnotic click and suddenly, dynamite explodes! the stars collide! and maybe, just maybe you’ve captured a magnificent moment in time… How thrilling is that?!?

  • Sis, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your encouragement means everything. Lately I think my work here has hit the skids. Not much interest from others anymore. Oh, well… Knowing you still care lifts my spirits…

Perfect thirds, and the wings of the butterfly (dragonfly?) point in an appealing angle toward the upper right corner. Nicely done!

  • How can I thank you enough for your beautiful comment??? Your words bring tears to my eyes. Tears of gratitude, tears of thanks… :)
