Thought I’d take my own personal stab at a full-on self portrait in natural light streaming in from a window across the hall, warts (or in this case blemishes) and all! My make-up has all but worn off throughout the day of ramblin’ round my home, getting stuff done after taking my Ava to school this morning. Here I am… messy, motley, middle-aged me!

With every image I shoot
With every word I write
With every creation I offer
I lay myself bare, exposed.
I conjure up my innermost thoughts
And captures that come from mind’s eye
And hold my breath in wonder
Will you look or simply walk by?
Such is the lot I’ve cast myself in
Compelled to create and to share
If others reject it, so be it, I know…
Life, after all, is not fair.
And so I continue my journey
Down this path I walk naked, alone,
But when I find others like-minded
We can cheer for each other and know…
There’s comfort offered here when you need it
There are friends who’ll inspire you, too
You’ll discover a world of acceptance
