Shot this last summer in Over The Rhine, Downtown, Cincinnati. Debated on uploading it, then thought, what the heck? Completely “as is”.

The abandoned buildings whisper long lost tales of better days gone by. What became of this bustling block? What became of mom and pop?

What ever happened to Mom & Pop,
Who ran the corner store?
The one that the neighborhood trusted?
The one nestled, so secure?
I’ll tell you what happened to Mom & Pop
And other small businesses
They’ve been swallowed whole by this economy
They’ve not even a shovel to dig
Through the rubble that once was their pride and joy
Now their dreams are all boarded up, pinned.
The block is condemned
What a shameful, sad end
Mom and Pop have been cast to the wind.

The world is full of magical photo ops…

All you need to grab them is a zest for life, an eye for the extraordinary and that trusty camera of your choice.

Raise the sturdy weight of it to your face … close one eye then … lower your finger upon the shiny black button… hold your breath then… hear that hypnotic click and suddenly, dynamite explodes! the stars collide! and maybe, just maybe you’ve captured a magnificent moment in time… How thrilling is that?!?
