A Huey restored to flying condition by Team Huey

Seen here departing RIAT at RAF Fairford in July 2012. I’ve seen 509 a number of times on the ground and occasionally heard it’s distinctive sound, but never actually seen it in motion until RIAT.

509 was manufactured in 1972 and was assigned to 129 Assault Helicopter Company Vietnam also in 1972

Sony DSC-HX1

My pictures are taken with a Sony DSC-HX1. What you see is pretty much what comes from the memory card, with maybe a touch of rotation and or cropping.
I probably wouldn’t be taking so many pictures if it weren’t for the camera. It has been worth every penny as it has captured some great memories since I got it in 2009.
Feel free to comment on any of the pictures. I’m all for learning how to improve.

Nice shot. I always regret not buying one of these after the Vietnam war when they were SO cheap. – Ted

  • Thank you. I’m guessing many were bought up by film and TV companies only to go up in a fireball … what a waste
