Looking over the reflecting pool at the Capitol Building in Washington DC

Construction of the Capitol Building began in 1793 under the watchful eyes of George Washington. Now home to the House of Representatives and The Senate

The Dome is made from cast iron and weighs 8.9 million pounds.

Well worth a visit … The Visitor Center is the newest addition to this historic complex. At nearly 580,000 square feet, the underground Visitor Center is approximately three quarters of the size of the Capitol itself.

My pictures are taken with a Sony DSC-HX1. What you see is pretty much what comes from the memory card, with maybe a touch of rotation and or cropping.
I probably wouldn’t be taking so many pictures if it weren’t for the camera. It has been worth every penny as it has captured some great memories since I got it in 2009.
Feel free to comment on any of the pictures. I’m all for learning how to improve.
