These appear to be quite hardy little things. The part of the field where this grows had a stretch of drain put in a couple of years ago and whilst the ground has dried and is much more solid, this has kept coming back.
There are several species of Marsh Orchid. If you happen to know what it is, please let me know and I shall amend the title.

Sony DSC-HX1

My pictures are taken with a Sony DSC-HX1. What you see is pretty much what comes from the memory card, with maybe a touch of rotation and or cropping.
I probably wouldn’t be taking so many pictures if it weren’t for the camera. It has been worth every penny as it has captured some great memories since I got it in 2009.
Feel free to comment on any of the pictures. I’m all for learning how to improve.

    Wonderful shot, great colour

  • Do you have any ideas what variety the orchid may be, I wonder?

acHoooooOooo but very nice colors, and that’s a thick stem!!

  • The whole plant itself is probably 4" stem and 4" bloom. It is quite thick and sturdy for such a delicate bloom
