Currently the world’s largest commercial airliner.

My pictures are taken with a Sony DSC-HX1. What you see is pretty much what comes from the memory card, with maybe a touch of rotation and or cropping.
I probably wouldn’t be taking so many pictures if it weren’t for the camera. It has been worth every penny as it has captured some great memories since I got it in 2009.
Feel free to comment on any of the pictures. I’m all for learning how to improve.

the biggest i’ve flown on my travels between Spain and SFO is a A320 and that was gorgeous, modern, well-thought out designed and laid-out, and a pleasure to be with a crew that was as nice as the aircraft. makes that tuck 747 a piece of floating plastic toy held together with superglue (or chewing gum in many cases). thanks for the memories buddy!

  • My first transatlantic flight was with Canadian Airlines on a Boeing 767, back in 1990. Flown Transatlantic on Virgin’s 747, been east on KLM Triple 7, All my more recent flights have been on A330 transatlantic and 320’s East to West coast USA and back. There is a 380 service direct to SFO if you’re prepared to travel via Germany. Whenever that might be, I think I’ll go via Germany – it cuts out the traumas of Philly transfers. Missed connections there on last visit because it took forever to get through immigration. Didn’t you travel C-5 transatlantic? They’d dwarf the 320, but would perhaps be a little lacking in IFE

can’t beat a C5 in cost!!! i agree in the nonstop german flights but stay away from Munich unless they have chged their checkpoints, because they have checkpoints even for connecting flights, in addition to international flights so you get a double whammy for trying to get to your connecting flights and can miss a flight also! hopefully they have chged that

I like the way this fills the frame

  • Thanks, Kala. It’s one of Airbus’s demonstration aircraft at Farnborough. One of the few places you’ll see the A380 doing things you wouldn’t think possible for something so big, hence the frame filling angles here. Aside from the enormity and agility of the plane, what struck me was just how quiet it is.

  • Thanks, Vicki. Finally flown as a passenger in one of these from Paris to Washington DC. No maneuvers such as this though
